Cruel Irony

"You can't leve life behind a book all the time," our parents would always tell us.
But they wanted us to study and focus on our school work, and read the books we needed to.
"Be yourself, son't ler peer pressure get to you," our parents would say.
Yet, they want us to be like other people, saying, "why can't you be more like your friend, Emily?"
"If your friend jumps of a bridge, would you follow," was always a great line.
But our parents wanted us to take chances.
"Listen to your heart."
Screw that, our parents wanted us to listen to our heads.
"Don't follow the crowd!"
But our individuality is stripped just because we wear one thing that makes us 'stand out' or that our parents don't like.
Our parents want us to be ourselves, but they try to make us like them.
Why are we told to do one thing, and then forced to do another?
People say this world is confusing
and with all this ironcy and hypocracy, they're damn right.
It's no wonder kids and teens don't listen to their parents, their brains are fucked up.

Stress, it's a killer.

You know, I've heard that so many times, and you know what?
IT ADDS STRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you don't think about it, the stress in minimal, but if it's brought to your attention, the stress maximizes and overflows your mind.
Yeah, they say stress is good for the body, but not to the extent that we are put through every day.
I'm going to be late.
Is my class cancelled?
Did I remember my work?
If I forgot it will I get a chance to hand it in later?
If not, how will that affect my grade?
Do I get a break for lunch? Because I'm starving and I haven't eaten anything yet.
Seriously people, this is why we get ULCERS!!
You know what, I have one now, and it's not fun.
This year has severely kicked my ass.
Between work; school; my mom not getting enough money to pay the bills; me not being able to work until December; mom going through a divorce; my brother annoying the hell out of us because he wants an Xbox; my grandparents demanding all of our time; my grandfather getting sick; my grandmother not being able to walk; my great grandmother that is now 97 being ready to die and not remembering who we are; my other great grandmother acting like she's a helpless 4 year old...... It takes a lot out of someone.
No wonder I have a fricking Ulcer.
Mom thinks it might have developed in high school when Jackass still lived with us.
When he was there, my grades sucked, when he left.... up they went!
Now, I'm trying to prove that I'm not the idiot he thought I was.
I'm speaking my mind, I'm not taking any shit from him.
So don't talk to me about stress.
I've had my fair share.

Stop and smell the roses damn it!

Sunsets at home are extreme. Sometimes, it's the brightest pink you think there can be, other times, it's the palest yellow. On occassion, it's pink, yellow, and purple. This picture doesn't do the sky justice. It was deep pink, and pale yellow, with a bit of orange thrown in. It was amazing. The air was still and the sky was painted. It was a sight I won't soon forget.
Many people don't take the time to stop and look up! Or look down. They never realize what is actually going on around them. They only notice what is happening in front of them, and it drives me crazy.
How can you not notice a deer in a field?
How do you not notice the trees swaying in the wind?
How?
